Geodetic center of North America is Osborne, KS, basis for all surveys, maps and deeds on continent.
Called the Sunflower State its state flower is the Sunflower and the state bird
is the
Western Meadowlark. Since the primary use of the land is agricultural crops of
Wheat,
Grain Sorghum, Barley, Oats, Corn, Rye and Soybeans are raised along with
cattle,
sheep, hogs and poultry. Major industrial areas are located around Wichita and
Kansas
City. Kansas is the home of the Potawatomi, Sac and Fox, Iowa and Kickapoo
