Popularly know as the Garden
State their
State bird is the Eastern Goldfinch and the State flower is the Purple Violet.
Located in
the top corner of the State on the border with New York, Pennsylvania and New
Jersey
High Points is the highest point in the state with an elevation of 1,803 feet.
While Trenton is the State Capital, Newark is its largest city. The major
industrial areas
in New Jersey are located around Paterson, Newark, Jersey City, New Brunswick,
Camden
and Trenton. Agricultural in the state consists of the raising of cattle, hogs
poultry and dairy
cattle. The crops raised include fruit, sweet corn, oats, soybeans, potatoes,
vegetables (Truck
Farming), apples, peaches, cranberries and blueberries. They also harvest
products from
their forests. Major mineral occurrences in the State are Clay, Titanium and
Zinc.
Along the States coastline they harvest Menhaden, Clams, Flounders, Cod,
Oysters, Crabs
and Porgies.
